Commandment,  MK. 12:28-31 (TPT), “Now a certain religious scholar overheard them debating. When he saw how beautifully Jesus answered all their questions, he posed one of his own, and asked him, “Teacher, which commandment is the greatest of all?

Jesus answered him, “The most important of all the commandments is this: ‘The Lord Yahweh, our God, is one!’s You are to love the Lord Yahweh, your God, with a passionate heart, from the depths of your soul, with your every thought, and with all your strength. This is the great and supreme commandment. And the second is this: ‘You must love your neighbort in the same way you love yourself.’ You will never find a greater commandment than these.”

The religious people of Jesus’ time on planet earth wanted a list that they could check off. That’s why the had created 613 commandments! Who could ever complete that huge list?

We are not much different today. We want a list of rules so we can feel good (or bad) about how much of our list we have completed. Or we use it as an excuse to not do anything at all!

Jesus later told them, “So I give you now a new commandment: Love each other just as much as I have loved you. For when you demonstrate the same love I have for you by loving one another, everyone will know that you’re my true followers.” JN. 13:34-35

By doing this He fulfilled all the commandments. And so can we! Let’s learn to love just like Jesus loves!

Be a Blessing, Sir Gregory
