Inheritance — “This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who He is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with Him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with Him!” (Romans 8:15-17, The Message Bible)

Many times we connect our inheritance in the Kingdom with how we act and not to who we truly are. Our actions don’t identify who we are. Rather, our actions can effect our inheritance. They don’t affect our identity.

We are all made in the image and likeness of God. (Genesis 1:26) This is who we are. Actions don’t change that. Life will have good times and bad times. But in our inheritance as children of God is always there; the question is will we accept it.

Let’s let who we are, and direct our lives accordingly. How we act will affect our circumstances but never our true identity!

Today’s Decrees:

  • I declare that I am a child of Daddy God — my identity is rooted in who He made me to be, not in how I have acted!

  • I live an adventurously expectant life — greeting Daddy God with a childlike "What's next, Papa?" every single day!

  • God's Spirit confirms who I really am — I am a son, I am a daughter, I am an heir of an unbelievable inheritance!

  • My actions do not define my identity — I am made in the image and likeness of God and that never changes!

  • I go through the hard times with Christ and I will certainly go through the good times with Him — the inheritance is mine!

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God, remind us today of who we truly are. Not who our worst moments say we are. Not who our critics say we are. But who You say we are — image-bearers, children, heirs, beloved. Let Your Spirit touch our spirits today and confirm that identity so deeply that nothing the world throws at us can shake it. Teach us to run to You with childlike confidence, to live adventurously expectant, and to step fully into the inheritance You secured for us through Jesus. Let who we are direct our lives today — and let the world see children who know their Father. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Be a Blessing,

Sir Gregory
