Memories — ““But watch out! Be careful never to forget what you yourself have seen. Do not let these memories escape from your mind as long as you live! And be sure to pass them on to your children and grandchildren.” (Deuteronomy 4:9, NLT)
In our world today, it seems our memories have become lost, forgotten, or just neglected. I believe we have forgotten because we don’t practice remembering. You may ask how do we practice our memories? It’s done by telling them to each other and to our families. Testimonies are a great way to remember.
We don’t even practice remembering Bible verses like we once did.
Asking Holy Spirit to help you is another way to remember.
“I am telling you these things now while I am still with you. But when the Father sends the Advocate as My representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—He will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.” (John 14:25-26, NLT)
Families used to pass down the stories of their ancestors. This practice is almost lost in today’s society. History is the greatest way for us to learn. Our adversary has tried to change the truth about our history. Holy Spirit is bringing the truth back into the light and exposing this tactic.
Let’s remember all that is true and right by telling the stories of all we have seen and been handed down by our ancestors!
Today’s Declaration’s:
I declare that I will not let my memories escape - I hold onto what Daddy God has done in my life!
I declare that Holy Spirit is teaching me and reminding me of everything Jesus has spoken!
I declare that I will pass down the truth to my children and grandchildren, generation after generation!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, help me to remember all You have done. Holy Spirit, bring back to my mind the testimonies I've forgotten, and give me courage to speak them out loud. Help me pass down truth to my children and grandchildren, so that Your faithfulness is never lost in my family. Expose every lie the enemy has tried to plant in our history, and let Your truth stand. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Be a Blessing,
Sir Gregory
