Same — “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, NKJV)

Many times we hear people say “that was then but now is different,” trying to justify their actions. Religion will tell you that we can’t truly understand what the Bible says. Yet the Bible tells us we are His and He will guide and direct our ways. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105, NKJV)

I like the way the Mirror Bible translate Hebrews 13:8.

“Take your lead from Jesus. He is your reference to the most complete life. In Him yesterday is confirmed today and today mirrors tomorrow. What God spoke to us in Christ is as relevant now as it was in the prophetic past and will always be in the eternal future.” (Hebrews 13:8, The Mirror Bible)

Let’s learn to believe what Jesus has and does for us!

Today’s Declarations:

  • I declare that Jesus Christ is my unchanging reference point, the same yesterday, today, and forever!

  • I take my lead from Jesus, trusting Him as my guide to the most complete life!

  • What God spoke to me in Christ is just as relevant today as it has ever been, and always will be!

  • I reject the lie that Scripture is too complicated to understand; His word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path!

  • I believe what Jesus has done and continues to do for me, without shifting based on convenience or confusion!

Let’s Pray

Daddy God, thank You that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, our reference to the most complete life. Forgive us for the times we have justified our own shifting with the excuse that things are simply different now, or believed the lie that Your word is too complicated for us to understand. Let what You spoke to us in Christ remain as relevant to us today as it has always been. Let Your word be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, enough for the next step we need to take. Teach us to believe what Jesus has done for us, and what He continues to do, without wavering. In Jesus' name, Amen.
