Daily Vitamin

Study — “I’m asking God for one thing, only one thing:To live with Him in His house my whole life long. I’ll contemplate His beauty; I’ll study at His feet.” (Psalm 27:4, MSG)

We have an example with the sisters Martha and Mary; “The Master said, “Martha, dear Martha, you’re fussing far too much and getting yourself worked up over nothing. One thing only is essential, and Mary has chosen it—it’s the main course, and won’t be taken from her.” (Luke 10:41-42, MSG)

Mary chose to sit at Jesus’ feet and listen carefully to what He was teaching. That’s how disciples studied back then. 

Basically Jesus told Martha not to worry about the hustle and bustle attracting her attention. There would be plenty of time for that later, but they wouldn’t always have Jesus with them. 

Today we have Holy Spirit with us. We have the ability to trade study time for what the world is offering us. Most of us are too worried with the immedite things, just like Martha. Let’s take time to sit and study at the feet of Jesus!

Today’s Declarations:

• I declare that I choose the one essential thing - to sit and study at Jesus' feet!

• I declare that Holy Spirit's presence is available to me every moment, and I will not trade that access for the world's distractions!

• I declare that like Mary, what I gain in His presence will not be taken from me!

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God, help me to choose the one essential thing today - to sit and study at Your feet rather than getting worked up over what's merely urgent. Thank You for Holy Spirit's constant presence, always available to teach me. Help me trade the world's distractions for time with You, knowing that what I gain in Your presence can never be taken away. In Jesus' name, Amen.
