Daily Vitamin

Two — “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken. ( Ecclesiastes 4:9-13, NKJV)

Many times we want to do it ourselves. Just like children when they are just learning, they want to feed themselves and do many things things they aren’t ready to do alone! But when they grow up, they learn to accept help.

“When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.” (1 Corinthians 13:11-12, NKJV) As we grow up, we learn there’s wisdom in getting help from others. We also learn that we can get more done when we work together! We learn that unity yields way more, than disunity!

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God, help us understand that two are better than one and that we need companions on life's journey! Break down the childish pride that makes us want to do everything ourselves. Give us wisdom to accept help from others and recognize that unity yields far more than disunity. Help us find trustworthy companions who will lift us when we fall, keep us warm in cold seasons, and stand with us against opposition. Make us the kind of companion others can depend on too. In Jesus' name, Amen.

I decree that I walk with godly companions on my life journey!

I decree that I put away childish independence and accept help wisely!

I decree that I have companions who lift me when I fall!

I decree that unity in my partnerships yields multiplication, not just addition!

I decree that God is the third strand making my relationships unbreakable!

I decree that I accomplish more through collaboration than solo effort!
