Book — “In October, when the Israelites had settled in their towns, all the people assembled with a unified purpose at the square just inside the Water Gate. They asked Ezra the scribe to bring out the Book of the Law of Moses, which the Lord had given for Israel to obey.” (Nehemiah 8:1, NLT)

“Ezra stood on the platform in full view of all the people. When they saw him open the book, they all rose to their feet. Then Ezra praised the Lord, the great God, and all the people chanted, ‘Amen! Amen!’ as they lifted their hands. Then they bowed down and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground.” (Nehemiah 8:5-6, NLT)

When Ezra opened the book, the people stood in reverence. Then, with one voice, they praised Daddy God, lifted their hands, and bowed down to worship. Notice that the people asked Ezra to bring out the book. They wanted it!

This kind of honor is fading in our society. Today people will cheer and praise an athlete or a musician, but honor and praise for the Word of Daddy God has become rare. Even in many churches, reverence for the Bible has faded.

When we honor His Word, it brings us together, just as it did for the people in Nehemiah’s day. Let’s be the ones to bring back that reverence, and the unity of love that comes with it, into our world and society!

Today’s Decrees:

🔥 I decree that I honor and revere the Word of Daddy God!

🔥 I decree that I hunger for His Word, like the people who asked Ezra to bring out the book!

🔥 I decree that His Word unites us in love and purpose!

🔥 I decree that I bring reverence for the Word back into my home, my church, and my community!

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God, thank You for Your Word. Give me a hunger for it like the people in Nehemiah’s day. Help me honor and revere it in my home and in my everyday life. Unite us in love and purpose around Your Word, and let us bring that reverence back into our world and society. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Be a Blessing,

Sir Gregory
