Upside-Down — “Many of the Jews were motivated by bitter jealousy and formed a large mob out of the troublemakers, unsavory characters, and street gangs to incite a riot. They set out to attack Jason’s house, for he had welcomed the apostles into his home. The mob was after Paul and Silas and sought to take them by force and bring them out to the people. When they couldn’t find them, they took Jason instead, along with some of the brothers in his house church, and dragged them before the city council. Along the way they screamed out, ‘Those troublemakers who have turned the world upside down have come here to our city.’” (Acts 17:5-6, TPT)
What was Paul and Silas’s crime? Was it against the government? No, it was against the religious culture of their day. They came preaching love and serving one another. Their accusers tried to use the claim that Jesus is a king to justify their outrage. Jesus never claimed to be a worldly king.
“Jesus looked at Pilate and said, ‘The royal power of My kingdom realm doesn’t come from this world. If it did, then My followers would be fighting to the end to defend Me from the Jewish leaders. My Kingdom realm authority is not from this realm.’ Then Pilate responded, ‘Oh, so then you are a king?’ ‘You are right,’ Jesus said. ‘I was born a King, and I have come into this world to prove what truth really is. And everyone who loves the truth will receive my words.’” (John 18:36-37, TPT)
Jesus came and turned the religious world upside down, not the worldly governmental one. See, it’s not about serving the grand poobah; it’s about serving each other with love!
Loving like Jesus will turn this world upside down once again!
Today’s Decrees:
🔥 I decree that the Kingdom of Jesus advances through love and truth, not force!
🔥 I decree that I serve others with the love of Christ, and my life turns the world upside down!
🔥 I decree that no jealousy, opposition, or accusation can stop the love of Jesus flowing through me!
🔥 I decree that people see Jesus in how I love and serve!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, thank You for the Kingdom of Jesus, a Kingdom of truth and love. Help me to serve others the way Jesus did, without needing to fight or win. When I’m misunderstood or opposed, keep my heart soft and my love steady. Let my life reflect Jesus so clearly that the world sees what real love looks like, and let Your love turn this world upside down once again. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
