Captive — “The fact that we are living in a physical world in human bodies of flesh does not mean that we engage ourselves in a combat dictated to by the typical “tit-for-tat” strategies of religion and the politics of the day. The dynamic of our strategy is revealed in God’s ability to disengage mindsets and perceptions that have held people captive in pseudo fortresses for centuries. Every lofty idea and argument positioned against God's knowledge of us, is cast down and exposed to be a mere invention of our own imagination. We arrest every thought at spear point - anything that could possibly trigger an opposing threat to our redeemed identity and innocence is taken captive. The caliber of our weapon is empowered by the revelation of the ultimate consequence of the obedience of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:3-5, The Mirror Bible)

Our warfare isn’t against flesh and blood. “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12, NKJV)

Our biggest battleground is in our own thoughts. We must learn to take them captive. Our best defense is staying in fellowship with Daddy God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, and like minded believers. This way, when we get runaway thoughts we have others to help dispel them.

Let’s take our thoughts captive with the knowledge of Christ Jesus, and help others to do the same!

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God, give us the wisdom to recognize that our greatest battles are fought in the realm of thoughts and ideas, not against people and circumstances. Help us arrest every thought that opposes our redeemed identity and innocence in Christ. Holy Spirit, reveal the lofty arguments and mindsets that have held us captive in pseudo fortresses, and empower us to cast them down with the truth of who we are in You. Strengthen our fellowship with You and like-minded believers so we have help when runaway thoughts try to overtake us. In Jesus' name, Amen.

• I decree that I fight against principalities and powers, not flesh and blood!

• I decree that I arrest every thought that threatens my redeemed identity in Christ!

• I decree that every pseudo fortress in my thinking is demolished by Kingdom truth!

• I decree that I am empowered by Christ's victory to live in mental freedom!

• I decree that I help others take their thoughts captive and experience liberation!
