Shouts

Shout — “O Lord, how blessed are the people who experience the shout of worship, for they walk in the radiance of Your presence. We can do nothing but leap for joy all day long, for we know who You are and what You do, and You’ve exalted us on high. The glory of Your splendor is our strength, and Your marvelous favor makes us even stronger, lifting us even higher! You are our King, the holiest one of all; Your wrap-around presence is our protection” (Psalms 89:15-18, TPT)
How many of us have forgotten the passwords to Your Presence? One is the shouts of praise. How about dance or worshiping with our all? We’ve been taught to be still and quiet. Like we tell children to sit and be quiet when they are filled with joy and glee. Somewhere along the line, we’ve forgotten to be loud. Or, perhaps, we were forced to be silent.
King David got so excited in bring the ark back into the presence of the people. He danced exuberantly that embarrassed his wife. He replied, “And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight.” (2 Samuel 6:22a, NKJV)
Maybe we need to learn from David, and let the joy of the Lord be seen by all those around us. Let’s not hide our shouts of worship any longer!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, forgive us for allowing religious propriety to silence the shouts of worship You love to hear from Your children. Break off every restraint that keeps us from expressing uninhibited joy in Your presence. Help us remember that You delight in our passionate worship, whether it embarrasses others or makes us look undignified. Restore to us the joy of our salvation and let our worship be a radiant expression of who You are and what You've done for us. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Be a Blessing,
Sir Gregory
