Citizenship — “Our citizenship is referenced in our joint position with Christ in Heavenly places. Heaven is not our goal, it is our starting point. Our understanding is sourced in a Savior; we fully embrace the Lord Jesus Christ. The salvation that Jesus is the author of, re-fashions these bodies of clay and elevates us to fully participate in the same pattern of His heavenly glory. The severe contradiction that we might often face in the frailty of the flesh, is by far surpassed by the glorious splendor displayed in His human body raised from the dead; according to the working of God’s dynamic power He imprints the mirror pattern of His likeness in us. Thus He subdues all things to Himself.” (Philippians 3:20-21, The Mirror Bible)
We all started in Christ before the foundation of all things. Now having Holy Spirit, Jesus and Daddy God living in us, brings clarity to our citizenship in Heavenly places. And that makes Ephesians 2:6 clearer still: “We are co-included in His resurrection. We are also co-elevated in His ascension to be equally present in the throne room of the heavenly realm where we are co-seated with Him in His executive authority. We are fully represented in Christ Jesus.” (The Mirror Bible)
We are more than a physical being. We are a three part being just like Daddy God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. This can be confusing sometimes, which is why we have the ability to ask Holy Spirit to help our understanding!
Here’s the bottom line: Your true citizenship is with Them!
Today’s Declarations:
I declare that my citizenship is in heaven — not as a future destination but as my present starting point and permanent identity!
I am co-included in the resurrection of Jesus, co-elevated in His ascension, and co-seated with Him in executive authority in the heavenly realm right now!
I am fully represented in Christ Jesus — my standing before the Father is established in Him and nothing can alter it!
I am a three-part being — physical, emotional, and spiritual — and I honor all three dimensions of who I am as a heavenly citizen operating in the physical world!
Holy Spirit helps me understand my citizenship and makes the reality of my heavenly position tangible in my daily experience!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God what an extraordinary reality You have established for us — co-included in the resurrection of Jesus, co-elevated in His ascension, co-seated with Him in the throne room of the heavenly realm with full executive authority and full representation in His name. Help us today to live from that reality rather than toward it. Shift our understanding of heaven from destination to starting point — from future hope to present identity. Holy Spirit make our citizenship tangible. Close the gap between the heavenly reality and our daily experience. Help us understand the three-part nature of who we are and why it is that two thirds of us already resonates with the realm we are citizens of. Let us walk today as the heavenly citizens we already are — fully represented in Christ Jesus, subdued to nothing that has already been subdued to Him. In Jesus' name, Amen.
