Compassion — “Show mercy and compassion for others, just as your heavenly Father overflows with mercy and compassion for all.” (Luke 3:36,TPT)

We live in a season where compassion is often mistaken for weakness. Some look at the merciful and call them naive. They say, "If you are not working every angle, if you are not taking what you can get, then you are the foolish one for trusting others to have the heart you have."

But the world has confused cleverness with wisdom. Cleverness asks, "What can I get out of this?" Wisdom asks, "What kind of world am I building?" The one who games every system may gain for a moment, yet leaves behind more suspicion, more walls, and less help for those who truly need it. The one who extends mercy is sowing into a harvest that outlives them.

“I am sending you out amongst those who want to destroy you—like sheep amongst wolves—so be innocent as doves and don’t antagonize; and remain alert and shrewd like serpents, quietly withdrawing when obvious danger presents itself.” (Matthew 10:16, The Remedy Bible)

Jesus bids us to go into all the world knowing there will be evil. Yet He overcame evil and showed us the way to help others. So compassion, mercy and kindness are really strength not weakness!

Today’s Decrees:

🔥 I decree that my heart remains soft toward people and sharp toward deception.

🔥 I decree that every seed of mercy I have sown is producing a harvest in its season.

🔥 I decree that the spirit of cynicism has no place in my home, my ministry, or my community.

🔥 I decree discernment over my giving, so that my compassion reaches those it was meant for.

🔥 I decree that I will not grow weary in doing good, for in due season I shall reap.

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God, thank You for the mercy You have shown me every single day. Keep my heart from growing cold in a world that rewards the clever and mocks the kind. Give me wisdom to see clearly and courage to love anyway. Let my compassion be guided by Your discernment, and let my generosity reflect Your nature. Where I have been taken advantage of, heal my heart and keep it soft. Help me to be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove, a living picture of Your goodness on the earth. In Jesus' name, Amen.
