Orphans

Orphans — “I promise that I will never leave you helpless or abandon you as orphans—I will come back to you!” (John 14:18, TPT)
“For it was always in His perfect plan to adopt us as His delightful children, through our union with Jesus, the Anointed One, so that His tremendous love that cascades over us would glorify His grace —for the same love He has for His Beloved One, Jesus, He has for us. And this unfolding plan brings Him great pleasure!” (Ephesians 1:5-6, TPT)
I came across a story in our history that I had never heard before.
Between 1854 and 1929, the Orphan Train movement, started by Charles Loring Brace and the Children's Aid Society, sent roughly 200,000 orphaned and abandoned children by rail from crowded East Coast cities to families in the Midwest and beyond. Children were often lined up on a platform or stage while local families looked them over and chose.
Most of those children weren't unloved. They lost parents to disease, accidents, war, and poverty in a world with no safety net. They were simply left hoping someone would choose them.
We don't have to wonder. Jesus said He would not leave us orphans, and Paul tells us Daddy God chose us for adoption as sons and daughters, by the good pleasure of His will. We weren't left on a platform hoping. He picked us first and made a way through Jesus to bring us home. No being looked over, no hoping the next family is kind. We were chosen on purpose by the One who wanted us.
James also tells us that taking care of orphans is true religion. This gives the idea of orphans a whole new meaning, and we get to be the hands and feet of Daddy God, taking care of them.
“Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.” (James 1:27, NKJV)

🔥 I decree that I am chosen, adopted, and loved, and I am never left helpless or abandoned!
🔥 I decree that the spirit of orphan is broken off my life, and I live as a son or daughter at home with Daddy God!
🔥 I decree that the same love Daddy God has for Jesus is poured out on me!
🔥 I decree that I am the hands and feet of Daddy God, caring for orphans and the overlooked, and my life makes room for others!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, thank You for choosing me and bringing me home through Jesus. Thank You that You never leave me helpless or abandoned, and that adopting me was Your plan and Your pleasure. Heal every place in me that still feels overlooked or left behind. Give me Your heart for orphans and widows, and show me how to visit them in their trouble and make room for them. Let Your love flow through me to those who are still waiting to be chosen. In Jesus' name, Amen.
