Decrease — “He must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:30, NKJV)

John tells us that we must decrease so that Christ may increase. When we look around there seems to be more people increasing while Christ is pushed into the background. Even in our religious institutions, we tend to exalt the leadership more than Jesus!

Sadly, when Jesus walked the earth, people were trying to get Him to take over like an earthly ruler. But Jesus said, “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28, NKJV)

So if Jesus came to serve instead of being served, I think we should take His example and go low. James gives us instruction on how to do this: “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” (James 4:10, NKJV)

Instead of trying to be more than we are, let Jesus increase in and through you! Does our life line up with His?

Today’s Decrees:

🔥 I decree that Jesus increases in every area of my life, and I gladly decrease!

🔥 I decree that I walk in the servant heart of Christ, who came not to be served but to serve!

🔥 I decree that I am humbled before Daddy God, and He lifts me up in His perfect timing!

🔥 I decree that everything I do, in life and in worship, exalts Jesus alone!

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God, help me to decrease so that Jesus can increase in my life. Forgive me for the times I've tried to be more than I am or exalted people or platforms in the place that belongs to Him. Give me a servant's heart like Jesus, and teach me to humble myself before You, trusting You to do the lifting. Let my life and my worship line up with His. In Jesus' name, Amen.
