Favorite — “Every gift God freely gives us is good and perfect, streaming down from the Father of lights, who shines from the heavens with no hidden shadow or darkness and is never subject to change. God was delighted to give us birth by the truth of His infallible Word so that we would fulfill His chosen destiny for us and become the favorite ones out of all His creation!” (James 1:17–18, TPT)
We are in a season of gift giving. We celebrate the birth of Jesus by giving each other gifts. It’s awesome! Gifts from Daddy God don’t stop with one day on our calendar. Every day is a gift beyond anything we can comprehend.
Did you read above that we are His “favorite ones” — His favorite gifts of all creation? Ponder that and let it sink in. Sometimes we joke about being Daddy God’s favorite, but it’s true! The cool thing is that other people are His favorite also. He’s a big enough creator to love all of us with the same everlasting love!
Once we grasp this, we can have different eyes for others who are a bit different from us. The next time someone acts differently than you would, remember they are also Daddy God’s favorite.
Life would really boring if we were all the same!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, we thank You that every gift You give us is good and perfect, streaming down from You who never changes and has no shadow of turning. Thank You for giving us birth by the truth of Your Word so that we could become Your favorite ones out of all creation. Help us to grasp this incredible truth - that we are Your favorites - and help us to see others through these same eyes of love. As we celebrate this season of gift-giving, help us to remember that every day is a gift from You and that Your love for each of us is everlasting and complete. In Jesus' name, Amen.
