Flock — “I am the Good Shepherd. I know My own sheep and My own sheep know Me. In the same way, the Father knows Me and I know the Father. I put the sheep before Myself, sacrificing Myself if necessary. You need to know that I have other sheep in addition to those in this pen. I need to gather and bring them, too. They’ll also recognize My voice. Then it will be one flock, one Shepherd.” (John 10:14-16, MSG)
Groups of people are referred as either tribes, flocks, or congregations. Jesus is referred to as the good Shepherd who watches over His flock with much care. He doesn’t want any to be lost — so much so that He would go looking for the one who got lost.
“Look at it this way. If someone has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders off, doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine and go after the one? And if he finds it, doesn’t he make far more over it than over the ninety-nine who stay put? Your Father in heaven feels the same way. He doesn’t want to lose even one of these simple believers. (Matthew 18:12-14, MSG)
Not only does He go after the one, but He will go after a whole flock that may be wandering away. There so many of us in our who have yet been brought into the care of the good Shepherd! When Jesus brings in others who have been wandering around seemingly lost, let’s embrace them with His love!
Today’s Declarations:
I declare that Jesus is my Good Shepherd, and I know Him just as He knows me!
I trust that Daddy God does not want to lose even one, and He pursues the wandering with relentless love!
I am part of one flock, gathered by one Shepherd, and I welcome others He is bringing home!
When Jesus brings in those who have been wandering, I embrace them with His love, not suspicion or hesitation!
I recognize His voice, and I follow where He leads, trusting His care over my life completely!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, thank You for being the Good Shepherd who knows us personally and pursues us relentlessly. Thank You that You do not want to lose even one, and that You go after the wandering, whether one sheep or an entire flock still outside the fold. Help us recognize Your voice above every other voice calling for our attention. And when You bring home those who have been wandering, give us hearts quick to embrace them with genuine love and welcome, just as You have welcomed us. Let us be one flock, gathered under one Shepherd, growing wider as more come home. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Be a Blessing,
Sir Gregory
