Mind — “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. (Isaiah 26:3, NKJV)
“Perfect, absolute peace surrounds those whose imaginations are consumed with you; they confidently trust in you.” (Isaiah 26:3,TPT)
Our minds are a very complex part of who we are. Our mind and brain are connected to each other. The mind is the spiritual and emotional parts of our brains. It takes our brains to be healthy and functioning well for our minds to work.
There are many parts of the brain — the storage part, the recall part, along with the part that evaluates the data. There is a part that creates in conjunction with the mind, and so on.
The word mind can also be translated as imagination. Let’s not stumble on that word. Imagination is not just making up stuff. It’s the part that of our being that helps us to create.
Paul tells us: “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:5 NKJV)
We are to keep our minds set on Jesus and to be like Him. So what was His mindset on? It was set on things above — on what His Father was doing and on us! His focus was on others and not just on Himself. It often takes our imagination/mind to help us focus on Jesus.
So instead of letting our imaginations go wild, let’s keep them focused on Jesus!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, help us understand the incredible power and potential of our minds when they are stayed on You. Transform our imaginations from sources of worry and distraction into instruments of peace and creativity aligned with Your purposes. Holy Spirit, help us let the mind of Christ be in us, focusing our thoughts on things above rather than earthly concerns. Keep our imaginations consumed with You so we experience perfect peace that surpasses understanding. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Today’s Decrees:
• I decree that my mind is stayed on God and I experience perfect, absolute peace!
• I decree that my imagination is consumed with God's goodness rather than potential problems!
• I decree that I have the mind of Christ, focusing on things above and serving others!
• I decree that I use my mental energy for Kingdom solutions rather than anxious scenarios!
• I decree that my thought patterns produce divine peace rather than earthly anxiety!
