Distractions — “Let no anxiety about anything distract you. Rather translate moments into prayerful worship, and soak your requests in gratitude before God. And in this place of worship and gratitude you will witness how the peace of God within you echoes the awareness of your oneness in Christ Jesus beyond the reach of any thought that could possibly unsettle you. Just like the sentry guard secures a city, watching out in advance for the first signs of any possible threat, your deepest feelings and the tranquillity of your thoughts are fully guarded there.” (Philippians 4:6-7, The Mirror Bible)
We all have so many distractions, not just in our western culture but throughout the world. These distractions keep us from seeing what’s going on right in front of us, even though they are right there in clear view. Many times we get caught up in problems that are either so minor we shouldn’t be stressing, or they are so big they aren’t even our assignment. Either way, they steal our attention and become a major stumbling block in our lives. Instead, we should stop and submit them to Daddy God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. That will bring peace and clarity into our lives — more than you may have ever imagined!
When distractions come trying to steal your peace, joy and overall well being, take them to the Throne Room of Daddy God, Jesus and Holy Spirit and let Them deal with them. Then They will show you what or what not to do!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, help us recognize the many distractions that try to steal our peace, joy, and overall well-being. Teach us to translate moments of anxiety into prayerful worship and to soak our requests in gratitude before You. Holy Spirit, guard our deepest feelings and the tranquillity of our thoughts like a sentry guard secures a city. When distractions come, remind us to bring them to Your throne room and let You deal with them according to Your perfect wisdom. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Today’s Decrees:
• I decree that I translate moments of anxiety into prayerful worship and gratitude!
• I decree that God's peace guards my heart and mind beyond the reach of any unsettling thought!
• I decree that I submit every distraction to God's throne room and receive His perfect guidance!
• I decree that I focus on what God is doing right in front of me rather than being caught up in uncontrollable problems!
• I decree that my spiritual attention remains fixed on God's presence rather than being pulled in different directions!
Be a Blessing,
Sir Gregory
