Powers — “Before we knew God as our Father and we became His children, we were unwitting servants to the powers that be, which are nothing compared to God. But now that we truly know Him and understand how deeply we’re loved by Him, why would we, even for a moment, consider turning back to those weak and feeble principles of religion, as though we were still subject to them? Why would we want to go backwards into the bondage of religion—scrupulously observing rituals like special days, celebrations of the new moon, annual festivals, and sacred years? I’m so alarmed about you that I’m beginning to wonder if my labor in ministry among you was a waste of time!” (Galatians 4:8-11, TPT)

All through the Bible, we see powers and principalities in many different forms from angels and demons to false gods. Just because they are false doesn’t mean they aren’t real. Paul told the Ephesians that we don’t fight against flesh and blood but rather against principalities. (Ephesians 6:12) He also asked the Galatians, “who has bewitched you?” (Galatians 3:1).

We are’t much different. Religion has forgot about the principalities that we can’t see but who are very real. We readily accept angels, miracles, and blessings. But we reject the thought of evil beings. Why is this? They have done a good job convincing the us that they aren’t real.

Those dark forces seem to be winning because we truly don’t understand who we are nor the power that is within us. “Greater is He in us than those in the world.” (JN. 4:4)

Do you know who you are?

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God, open our eyes to see the spiritual realm as it truly is, not as the enemy would have us believe. Help us understand that while principalities and powers are real, You are infinitely greater. Remind us of who we are as Your children and the authority we carry through Christ. Holy Spirit, awaken us to our true identity so we no longer live as slaves to systems and powers that have no real authority over us. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

Today’s Decrees:

• I decree that I know who I am and whose I am!

• I decree that no weapon formed against me shall prosper because greater is He in me!

• I decree that I walk in spiritual authority as a child of the King!

• I decree that religious systems and cultural powers have no claim over my life!

• I decree that I live in freedom, not fear, because perfect love casts out all fear!
