Treasure — “Everything that could possibly define our wealth is hidden in Christ. In this place of our union in Him the complete treasure of all wisdom and knowledge is sourced. I want to say it with such clarity that no one will be able to lead you to an inferior conclusion by bending your mind with clever words.” (Colossians 2:3-4, The Mirror Bible)
How do we value or define our treasure? Is it in things, cars, houses, money? Things that can disappear in moments. — Or is it in family, friends, community?
Jesus said, “Don’t keep hoarding for yourselves earthly treasures that can be stolen by thieves. Material wealth eventually rusts, decays, and loses its value. Instead, stockpile heavenly treasures for yourselves that cannot be stolen and will never rust, decay, or lose their value. For your heart will always pursue what you value as your treasure.” ( Matthew 6:19-21, TPT)
Our true treasure chest is our innermost being (what we call our heart). Jesus later said “What’s in our heart will come out our mouth.” (My version) Read Luke 6:45.
Having earthly treasure isn’t necessarily bad, as long as it’s secondary in your life. Your true and primary treasure is stored in a realm that will never fade or be stolen! It’s in your relationship with Daddy God, Jesus and Holy Spirit.
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, open our eyes to see the incredible treasure we possess in our union with Christ. Help us shift our focus from temporary, earthly accumulations to the eternal riches that are already ours in Him. Transform our hearts to value what You value and treasure what cannot be stolen, rusted, or lost. Holy Spirit, reveal to us the complete wealth of wisdom and knowledge that is sourced in our relationship with You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Today’s Decree’s:
• I decree that I am incredibly wealthy because of my union with Christ!
• I decree that all the wisdom and knowledge I need is already available to me!
• I decree that my heart pursues eternal treasures over temporary possessions!
• I decree that earthly blessings are gifts, but God Himself is my treasure!
• I decree that I speak from the abundance of heavenly treasure in my heart!
Be a Blessing,
Sir Gregory
