Rejoice

Rejoice — “Even if my fig trees do not blossom and my vines grow no grapes, if my olive crop fails and my fields produce no harvest, and even if all my sheep die and I’m left with no cattle in my barn, I still have Yahweh, and I will rejoice in Him. Yes, I will dance with joy no matter what, for I have a Savior-God! Yahweh is the Lord of my strength; He makes my feet sure-footed as a deer bounding upon the high places.” ( Habakkuk 3:17-19, The Passion Translation)

There is a phrase in these passages that stand out, “no-matter”. It’s a resolve that needs to be settled in our most inward places. It’s the resolve of many Bible characters we read about. Joshua settled it for himself when he proclaimed that he and his house would serve the Lord — no matter what everyone else was going to do!  (Joshua 24:15).

Many times we put conditions on our faith. As long as things are going well, we serve Daddy God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. But as soon as troubles come or our prayers aren’t answered in a way we think they should be, we begin to doubt. It’s in those hard times that we need to draw closer to Daddy God.

Let’s be like the prophet Habakkuk and Joshua.  “No-Matter” what, we will rejoice in Daddy God, Jesus and Holy Spirit!

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God, help us settle the "no matter what" resolve deep in our hearts that chooses to rejoice in You regardless of circumstances. Strengthen us to dance with joy even when our fig trees don't blossom, our vines produce no grapes, and our fields yield no harvest. Holy Spirit, make our feet sure-footed like deer bounding upon high places, finding our strength and joy in You alone rather than in favorable conditions. Teach us to draw closer to You in times of trouble rather than pulling away in doubt. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Today’s Decrees:

• I decree that I rejoice in Daddy God "no matter what" circumstances may arise!

• I decree that my joy flows from relationship with my Savior-God, not from favorable conditions!

• I decree that I am sure-footed like a deer, bounding upon the high places of faith!

• I decree that I draw closer to God in times of trouble rather than pulling away in doubt!

• I decree that my "no matter what" resolve is settled deep in my inward places and cannot be shaken!
