Daily Vitamin
Table — “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (Psalms 23:5-6, NKJV)
Why set a table in the presence of our enemies? Is it to gloat? To say “nany nany boo boo, you can’t get me?” Maybe. Or perhaps it’s to show that we are protected and loved by Daddy God? Sure!
But let’s look at it in yet a different view. Maybe it’s to show our enemies that they could also be at this table!
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.” These acts of kindness will be like heaping coals of fire on his head and certainly rid him of the dross in his mind and win him as a friend. Do not let evil be an excuse for you to feel defeated; rather seize the opportunity to turn the situation into a victory for good.” (Romans 12:20-21, The Mirror Bible)
I’ve always said the best way to defeat your enemy is to help them become a brother! We seem to always want vengeance, but vengeance is up to Daddy God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. Our job is to show others who They truly are. In demonstrating the true Kingdom of God, we allow others to see for themselves the lies they have believed.
So, by feeding them and giving them drink, we invite them to His table. They will experience true mercy, kindness and love. And yes, we will also expose the darkness by bringing it to the light, so that it too may be changed!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, help us understand the revolutionary love that prepares a table in the presence of our enemies not to gloat but to demonstrate Your heart for redemption. Give us the courage to invite those who oppose us to experience Your goodness, mercy, and love. Holy Spirit, transform our perspective from seeking vengeance to pursuing victory through kindness that heaps coals of fire on hearts and burns away the dross of deception. Help us show others who You truly are through Kingdom hospitality that reveals Your true nature. In Jesus' name, Amen.

• I decree that my table is always prepared with room for those who are ready to lay down their weapons!
• I decree that goodness and mercy follow me, creating opportunities for enemy transformation!
