Salt

Salt — “Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. (Colossians 4:5-6, NKJV)

Salt not only seasons; it also preserves. Our words are the seasoning that draws others to Christ. They also can be a stumbling block to those who are seeking the truth. Many times people will say “excuse my French” and then say something inappropriate. If they know it’s wrong, why say it?  When we say things that aren’t filled with grace and seasoned with salt, we send mixed messages!

“Salt is excellent for seasoning. But if salt becomes tasteless, how can its flavor ever be restored? Your lives, like salt, are to season and preserve. So don’t lose your flavor, and preserve the peace in your union with one another.” (Mark 9:50, TPT)

Don’t mix your words and end up letting them lose their seasoning and witness!

Lets Pray:

Daddy God, we thank You for calling us to be salt in this world - both seasoning that attracts others to You and preservative that maintains purity and truth. Help us to understand the power of our words and the importance of speaking with grace seasoned with salt. Guard our mouths from mixed messages that confuse our witness, and help us to know how to answer each person we encounter. Let our speech be a bridge that draws people to Christ rather than a stumbling block that turns them away. Give us wisdom to walk among unbelievers in a way that redeems the time and reflects Your character. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Today’s Declaration’s:

I declare that my speech will always be with grace, seasoned with salt, drawing others to Christ.

I declare that I will walk in wisdom toward unbelievers, redeeming every opportunity for Kingdom purposes.

I declare that my words will season conversations and preserve truth without sending mixed messages.

I declare that I will not lose my spiritual flavor but will maintain my distinctiveness as a believer.

I declare that I will know how to answer each person appropriately, speaking life and hope into their situations.

Be Blessing,

Sir Gregory
