Gratitude — “Carrying out this social relief work involves far more than helping meet the bare needs of poor Christians. It also produces abundant and bountiful thanksgivings to God. This relief offering is a prod to live at your very best, showing your gratitude to God by being openly obedient to the plain meaning of the Message of Christ. You show your gratitude through your generous offerings to your needy brothers and sisters, and really toward everyone. Meanwhile, moved by the extravagance of God in your lives, they’ll respond by praying for you in passionate intercession for whatever you need. Thank God for this gift, His gift. No language can praise it enough!” (2 Corinthians 9:12-15, The Message Bible)

We have so much to be grateful for! Gratitude is the language of grace. All through the Bible, we see people being grateful and expressing that by giving thanks and praise. Yet we live in a society that is so entitled! There are so many stories today where people aren’t grateful, so they forget to be thankful. They become slaves to other things and eventually forget Daddy God! This leads them into deeper captivity.

We might not become enslaved to other nations, but we do become enslaved to worry, lack, and all kinds of bad things out of our control!

Let’s learn to have a grateful attitude, for our sake and so others may follow our example. Praise Daddy God, Jesus and Holy Spirit!

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for all You have done, all You are doing, and all You will do in our lives. Help us to recognize that we have so much to be grateful for and that gratitude is the language of grace. Protect us from the spirit of entitlement that pervades our culture and help us to live with thankful hearts that produce generous lives. Let our gratitude be an example to others and a pathway to freedom from worry, lack, and all the things that try to enslave us. Fill us with abundant thanksgiving that overflows in praise to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Today’s Declaration’s:

I declare that gratitude is the language I speak, expressing grace for all God has done in my life.

I declare that I will show my gratitude through generous offerings to those in need around me.

I declare that I reject entitlement and choose to live with a grateful heart that recognizes every blessing.

I declare that my gratitude will protect me from becoming enslaved to worry, lack, and circumstances beyond my control.

I declare that my grateful attitude will be an example for others to follow, pointing them to God's goodness.

Be a Blessing,

Sir Gregory
