Slow — “My dearest brothers and sisters, take this to heart: Be quick to listen, but slow to speak. And be slow to become angry, for human anger is never a legitimate tool to promote God’s righteous purpose. So this is why we abandon everything morally impure and all forms of wicked conduct. Instead, with a sensitive spirit we absorb God’s Word, which has been implanted within our nature, for the Word of Life has power to continually deliver us.” (James 1:19-21, TPT)
In our world of fast paced cars, high speed internet, and the desire to have everything faster rather than slower, we forget the lesson of the hare and tortious. That taking life at a slow, steady pace will get us where we need to go instead of “hurry! hurry up!’’ Most of the time, we crash when we forget to listen.
Many want Jesus to hurry up and come back, thinking He’s taking too long. But we read, “This means that, contrary to man’s perspective, the Lord is not late with His promise to return, as some measure lateness. But rather, His “delay” simply reveals His loving patience toward you, because He does not want any to perish but all to come to repentance.” (2Peter 3:9,TPT)
Let’s learn the lesson to slow down and listen. For in the end, we will receive all that is ours!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, in a world that demands we hurry, rush, and race through life, we come before You asking for the wisdom to slow down. Teach us the sacred rhythm of Kingdom living - quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. Help us to trust Your perfect timing in all things, knowing that Your delays are displays of Your love and patience. Give us hearts that can absorb Your Word with sensitivity rather than rushing past the very truths that have power to transform us. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Today’s Declaration’s:
I declare that I am quick to listen and slow to speak, operating in Kingdom wisdom rather than flesh impulses.
I declare that I trust Daddy God's perfect timing in every area of my life, knowing His delays are displays of His love.
I declare that I absorb God's Word with a sensitive spirit, allowing it to transform me from the inside out.
I declare that I move at Kingdom pace - steady, intentional, and aligned with divine purpose.
I declare that patience is working in me to produce the perfect work that Daddy God desires.
Be a Blessing,
Sir Gregory
