Storms — “One day Jesus said to His disciples, “Let’s get in a boat and go across to the other side of the lake.” So they set sail. Soon Jesus fell asleep. The wind rose, and the fierce wind became a violent squall that threatened to swamp their boat. So the disciples woke Jesus up and said, “Master, Master, we’re sinking! Don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” With great authority Jesus rebuked the howling wind and surging waves, and instantly they stopped and became as smooth as glass.” (Luke 8:22-24, TPT)

Life will take us through many storms. Yet we don’t have to go through them alone. We read about different types of storms that Jesus and the disciples faced. When Jesus walked on water, it wasn’t a smooth sea; it was rough. The disciples thought they were going to die. Yet Jesus came and spoke the storm. It calmed right down.

So when the storms come (and they will), take a look around to find where Jesus is. Lean into Him so you can calm down and continue on your journey.

Jesus, Daddy God and Holy Spirit promised to never leave us. (Deuteronomy 31:6, Hebrews 13:5) They are with you. Don’t let the storms hide Them!

Today’s Decrees:

🔥 I decree that the people of God are finding Jesus in the middle of their storms — leaning into His presence rather than being consumed by the fear of the waves — and the storms are being rebuked in Jesus' name!

🔥 I decree that every lie that the storm is telling — that God does not care, that He has abandoned the boat, that the crossing is not going to be completed — is silenced by the authority of the One who speaks to weather and it obeys!

🔥 I decree that the promise of Deuteronomy 31:6 and Hebrews 13:5 is alive and active — Jesus, Daddy God, and Holy Spirit will never leave and never forsake — and that promise is anchoring God's people in every storm they are facing right now!

🔥 I decree that the Renaissance People are storm crossers — not storm avoiders — who keep their eyes on Jesus, lean into His presence, and arrive at the other side of every squall stronger, more established, and more convinced of His faithfulness than when the storm began!

Let’s Pray:

Jesus we need You in the boat today. Not as a distant observer watching from the shore — but right here, present, authoritative, and awake to everything that is threatening to swamp us. Thank You that You never left. Thank You that the promise of Deuteronomy 31 and Hebrews 13 is not a theological concept but a living reality — You will never leave us and You will never forsake us. In the middle of every howling wind and surging wave we are facing right now — speak. Speak with the same great authority that turned a violent squall into smooth glass on the Sea of Galilee. Rebuke what needs to be rebuked. Calm what needs to be calmed. And help us keep our eyes on You rather than on the waves — leaning into Your presence rather than being consumed by the fear of what is surrounding us. We are crossing to the other side. And we are not crossing alone. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Be a Blessing,

Sir Gregory
