Testimony — “So there were many from the Samaritan village who became believers in Jesus because of the woman’s testimony: “He told me everything I ever did!” Then they begged Jesus to stay with them, so He stayed there for two days, resulting in many more coming to faith in Him because of His teachings. Then the Samaritans said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you told us, but now we’ve heard Him ourselves and are convinced that He really is the true Savior of the world!” (John 4:39-42, TPT)

Because of the testimony of one person, many came to acknowledge who Jesus was. Our testimony can have the very same effect on those in our sphere of influence. Many would say that the women’s testimony wasn’t really all that good. What made it powerful was who she testified about. It wasn’t about what she had done or hadn’t done; it was about the One who knew everything about her. He took the time to visit with her, and this caused her to tell everyone about Him.

Jesus bridged the traditional race and gender divisions that the religious rules of the day upheld. He spoke to a woman of a different culture than His. Then her purpose was to speak to others. See the pattern?

We have the same mission to testify about the One who knows everything about us! And allow them to hear Him so He can draw them to Himself.

When was the last time you testified about Him?

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God, help us understand the power of simple testimony that points people to Jesus rather than ourselves. Give us the courage and passion of the Samaritan woman who couldn't help but tell everyone about the One who knew everything about her yet loved her completely. Holy Spirit, remind us that our testimony isn't about having a perfect past but about pointing to the perfect Savior who crosses every barrier to reach us. Use our stories to draw others to hear Jesus for themselves. In His name, Amen.

Today’s Decrees:

• I decree that I have a powerful testimony about the One who knows everything about me and loves me completely!

• I decree that my authentic story of His grace draws others to investigate Jesus for themselves!

• I decree that I will not let shame or inadequacy silence my voice about what Christ has done!

• I decree that my testimony creates curiosity that leads others to personal encounters with Jesus!

• I decree that I fulfill my mission to testify about the true Savior of the world!

Be a Blessing,

Sir Gregory
