Truth — “There will be times when people will not relate to their inner resonance, when it comes to discerning sound instruction. Instead they would prefer the familiar language of the fallen mindset and desperately chase after titles and teachers who entertain rather than educate; they would accumulate for themselves libraries of information without any revelation. In their pursuit they would exchange the truth for man-made fictions and fables as their source of reference.” (2 Timothy 4:3-4, The Mirror Bible)
Paul was talking about to Timothy about his day, yet we can transplant this word for us now! And looking back to Jeremiah’s time, that too looks a lot like today, doesn’t it?!
“From the smallest to the greatest, they are greedy for corrupt profits; prophet and priest alike, they all practice deceit. They treat the wounds of My people as though they were scratches. They say, ‘Peace, everything is well,’ when there is no peace, and nothing is well.” (Jeremiah 6:13-14, TPT)
Paul told Timothy to be alert and watch for those who are on the wrong path, so he could help them to get back on the path God had set before them. We have the same calling — to lead others from the broad path to the narrow one!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, help us relate to our inner resonance when discerning sound instruction! Keep us from desperately chasing after teachers who entertain rather than educate. Protect us from exchanging truth for man-made fictions and fables. Give us courage to speak truth even when people prefer comfortable lies. Help us be alert and watch for those on the wrong path so we can help them return to Your narrow way. Make us faithful to sound instruction rather than accumulating information without revelation. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Today’s Decree’s:
I decree that I relate to inner resonance when discerning truth!
I decree that I pursue education and transformation, not just entertainment!
I decree that I seek revelation, not just information accumulation!
I decree that I am alert to help those wandering on the wrong path!
I decree that I lead people from the broad path to the narrow one!
I decree that I speak truth even when comfort is preferred!
