Vanishing

Vanishing — “Help, Lord! Save us! For godly ones are swiftly disappearing. Where are the dependable, principled ones? They’re a vanishing breed! Everyone lies, everyone flatters, and everyone deceives. Nothing but empty talk, smooth talk, and double-talk. Where are the truthful?” (Psalms 12:1-2, TPT)
As we read the Psalms, it seems that David was speaking of our time rather than his! David ends this Psalm with this, “Lord, you will keep us forever safe, out of the reach of the wicked. Even though they strut and prowl, tolerating and celebrating what is worthless and vile, you will still lift up those who are yours! (Psalms 12:7-8,TPT)
David had confidence that Daddy God would continue to help those who follow His ways! But beware; our adversary doesn’t give up. Jesus reminds us to stay pure to His calling!
Our adversary likes to mix good and evil, trying to convince us it’s all good. Jesus responds to this with, “And who would mend worn-out clothing with new fabric? When the new cloth shrinks, it will rip, making the tear worse than before. And who would pour fresh, new wine into an old wineskin? Eventually the wine will ferment and make the wineskin burst, losing everything—the wine will be spilled and the wineskin ruined. Instead, new wine is always poured into new wineskins.” (Mark 2:21-22,TPT)
Let’s not allow the truth to be mixed where it becomes diluted and worthless — like the salt that lost its flavor.
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, in a world where truth seems to be vanishing and where many are mixing good with evil, help us to stand firm in Your unchanging Word. Give us the discernment to recognize when truth is being diluted and the courage to remain pure in our calling. Just as David found confidence in Your faithfulness, help us to trust that You will keep us safe and lift us up even when wickedness seems to prevail around us. Make us like new wineskins that can contain the fresh wine of Your Kingdom without compromise. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Today’s Declaration’s:
I declare that I will stand firm for truth even when godly ones seem to be vanishing around me.
I declare that I refuse to mix good and evil, maintaining the purity of God's calling on my life.
I declare that I am a new wineskin, designed to contain the fresh wine of God's Kingdom without compromise.
I declare that God will keep me safe and lift me up even when wickedness seems to prevail.
I declare that I will not be salt that has lost its flavor but will maintain the distinctive character of Kingdom living.
Be a Blessing,
Sir Gregory
