Willpower — “And now I realize that it is no longer my true self doing it, but the unwelcome intruder of sin in my humanity. For I know that nothing good lives within the flesh of my fallen humanity. The longings to do what is right are within me, but willpower is not enough to accomplish it.” (Romans 7:17-18, TPT)

Paul knows that within our flesh we don’t have the willpower to overcome the desires of our flesh. But don’t be afraid!

“For God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and self-control.” (2 Timothy 2:7, TPT)

“We all experience times of testing, which is normal for every human being. But God will be faithful to you. He will screen and filter the severity, nature, and timing of every test or trial you face so that you can bear it. And each test is an opportunity to trust Him more, for along with every trial God has provided for you a way of escape that will bring you out of it victoriously.” (1 Corinthians 10:13, TPT)

These are just a couple examples of how Daddy God, Holy Spirit and Jesus gives us the power to overcome our fleshly desires! The next time something comes at you, realize that willpower alone won’t get you through it. But the power of Holy Spirit will.

Like Jeremiah 33:3 says, call out to Him and you’ll get unexpected answers.

Todays Decrees:

🔥 I decree that the people of God are laying down the exhausting burden of flesh-reliant willpower and picking up the inexhaustible mighty power of Holy Spirit in Jesus' name!

🔥 I decree that every spirit of fear, defeat, and condemnation that has kept God's people trapped in cycles of trying and failing in their own strength is broken and silenced right now!

🔥 I decree that the way of escape Daddy God has embedded in every trial is being revealed — and believers are walking out of their tests victoriously because they called out to Holy Spirit!

🔥 I decree that the Renaissance People are a people of Holy Spirit power — not fear, not flesh, not human willpower — but the mighty, inexhaustible, victory-producing power of God living within them!

Lets Pray:

Daddy God, thank You for the honesty of Paul's words — that willpower is not enough. Thank You for not designing us to white-knuckle our way through life but to call out to Holy Spirit and receive mighty power, love, and self-control that we could never generate on our own. In every trial we face today remind us that You have already screened it, filtered it, and embedded a way of escape within it. Teach us to call out first — not as a last resort but as our first response. Let Holy Spirit be our strength in every moment of weakness. And let the world see in us a people who overcome — not by their own might, not by their own power, but by Your Spirit. In Jesus' name, Amen.
