Words — “They keep saying to one another, ‘Let’s go hear what Yahweh has to say.’ They all flock to you to sit at your feet as My people. They listen to your words, but they will not act on them. Instead, they express genuine devotion to Yahweh, but their hearts are set on cheating others. As far as they are concerned, you are like an entertainer who sings a love song with a beautiful voice to a good musical accompaniment. They hear what you say, but no one will do it.” (Ezekiel 33:30b-32, The Passion Translation)
The more I read the scriptures and come to understand them, the more the statement “history will repeat itself” rings true! Our society and the world look and sound like the days of Ezekiel. I never understood why we can’t simply learn from others mistakes!
Christ showed us the way to live, but most have rejected Him. Jesus made the way for Holy Spirit to come and live among us, to guide us on a better path, and to make the way smoother.
Let’s not be like the ones who go from this teaching to that teaching, without ever learning or applying them into their lives!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, speak to our hearts today with words that transform, not just inform. Holy Spirit, give us the courage and grace to not just hear Your truth, but to live it. We confess that too often we've been content to listen without acting, to learn without applying, to know without doing. Jesus, Thank You for showing us the way to live and empowering us to walk it out. Today, we commit to being doers of Your Word, not just hearers who deceive ourselves. Remove the entertainment mindset from our hearts and replace it with genuine devotion that produces action. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Today’s Decree’s:
I DECREE that I am a doer of the Word, and my life reflects the truth I've heard!
I DECREE that I refuse to treat spiritual teaching like entertainment!
I DECREE that my devotion is demonstrated through my actions, not just my words!
I DECREE that I apply what I learn instead of constantly seeking new information!
I DECREE that I cooperate with Holy Spirit to live out Kingdom principles!
I DECREE that I learn from history's mistakes instead of repeating them!
I DECREE that transformation is my goal, not just information!
I DECREE that my life is being changed by the truth I've received!
