Anxiety — “Let no anxiety about anything distract you. Rather translate moments into prayerful worship, and soak your requests in gratitude before God. And in this place of worship and gratitude you will witness how the peace of God within you echoes the awareness of your oneness in Christ Jesus beyond the reach of any thought that could possibly unsettle you. Just like the sentry guard secures a city, watching out in advance for the first signs of any possible threat, your deepest feelings and the tranquillity of your thoughts are fully guarded there.” (Philippians 4:6-7, The Mirror Bible)
Read that again. In this place of worship and gratitude, you will witness the peace of God! Peace instead of anxiety sounds like a good deal to me. But where does this peace come from? It comes from within us. Yes from in us, not from some far off place. This once again proves that the presence of Daddy God, Jesus and Holy Spirit are both with and within us.
If we already have something, it not something we have to go get. In other words, it’s not like going to the store for a gallon of milk. You don’t have to go to special time or place to have the very peace of Daddy God! He’s already in you.
With Daddy God, Jesus and Holy Spirit living in us and with us, peace is available all the time. So we don’t have to strive, beg, or look for peace. It’s with you right now!
So relax and breathe and let peace be your guard from the attacks of our society!
Let’s pray:
Daddy God, thank You that You haven't left us to fight anxiety alone. Right now, in this very moment, You are with us and within us through Jesus and Holy Spirit. We don't have to go searching for peace like it's some missing piece we need to find. Help us remember that Your peace is already here, already available, already guarding our hearts and minds. When anxiety tries to distract us today, remind us to breathe, to worship, and to rest in the truth that we are one with You. Let Your peace be our sentry guard against every anxious thought. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Declaration:
I am not anxious about anything because I am not alone in anything. Daddy God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit are with me and within me right now. Their peace is my peace. Their guard is my guard. I don't have to go looking for what I already possess. I breathe, I worship, I rest in the peace that surpasses understanding.
