Residence — “God is love. When we take up permanent residence in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us. This way, love has the run of the house, becomes at home and mature in us, so that we’re free of worry on Judgment Day—our standing in the world is identical with Christ’s. There is no room in love for fear. Well-formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life—fear of death, fear of judgment—is one not yet fully formed in love. We, though, are going to love—love and be loved. First we were loved, now we love. He loved us first. (1 John 4:17-19, The Message Bible)

Our residence is more than a physical place or location. It affects our way of being, way of thinking, and way of understanding. It’s way more than community or nationality. Our residence has and will always be in daddy God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. Wherever They are, we are also! Our true residence is in Love!

What is love? Love has many characteristics — many more than I could ever list or comprehend in a lifetime. That doesn’t mean I’ll ever stop trying! First Corinthians 13 gives us some understanding. Read it in several different versions and get a glimpse of what love truly is!

You are loved. It’s in your residence.

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God, thank You that our true address isn't written on any envelope or GPS location. Our permanent residence is in You - in Love itself. Help us understand today that wherever You are, we are. When people ask where we're from, remind us that we come from Love and we're going back to Love. Let this truth settle deep in our hearts so that fear has no forwarding address to find us. We live in You, You live in us, and that makes Love our permanent home. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Declaration for Today:

My true residence is Love. I live in Daddy God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, and They live in me. Fear has no address here. Worry gets returned to sender. I am love learning to love better, and wherever I go today, I carry the atmosphere of my true home with me.
