Ascension — “Just before He ascended into heaven, He left instructions for the apostles He had chosen by Holy Spirit. After the sufferings of His cross, Jesus appeared alive many times to these same apostles over a forty-day period. Jesus proved to them with many convincing signs that He had been resurrected. During these encounters, He taught them the truths of God’s Kingdom realm and shared meals with them.” (Acts 1:2-3, TPT)
Most of us are familiar with the birth, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. But what about His ascension? We celebrate Christmas and Easter with great joy — and rightfully so. But there is a chapter in the story that doesn’t always get the attention it deserves — the ascension.
After forty days of appearing to His disciples, eating with them, teaching them Kingdom truths, and proving beyond any doubt that He was alive — Jesus rose. Not metaphorically. Not spiritually. But bodily and physically. He ascended through the clouds and took His seat at the right hand of the Father.
Why is it important? By ascending He fulfilled many prophecies, made a way for Holy Spirit to come and dwell among us. And to give us the promise of His return — also not spiritually or metaphorically but fully physical in a glorified body!
Remember, He ascended and will return!
Today’s Decrees:
🔥 I decree that the full story of Jesus — birth, death, burial, resurrection, and Ascension — is being proclaimed with boldness and clarity across the earth in this hour!
🔥 I decree that every spirit of spiritual amnesia that has caused the church to live as though Jesus is absent rather than ascended and active is broken in Jesus' name!
🔥 I decree that Holy Spirit — sent because Jesus ascended — is moving with fresh power, fresh presence, and fresh authority in and through the body of Christ right now!
🔥 I decree that the Renaissance People are a people of the full Gospel — carrying the reality of the Ascension and the hope of the Return into every conversation, every community, and every nation they touch!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, today we lift our eyes. Not just to the sky where Jesus disappeared into the clouds — but to the right hand of the Father where He is seated right now, alive, glorified, and fully physical. Open our understanding to the chapter of the story that so many of us have skipped over. Let the Ascension of Jesus become as real and as celebrated in our hearts as His birth and His resurrection. And let the promise of His return anchor everything we do until that day comes. In Jesus' name, Amen.
