Authority — “Then Jesus came close to them and said•, “All the authority of the universe has been given to Me. Now go in My authority and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. And teach them to faithfully follow all that I have commanded you. And never forget that I am with you every day, even to the completion of this age.” (Mathew 28:18-20, TPT)
Jesus shared His authority to first the disciples so they would teach others what He had taught them. Then they were to share that authority with those they had taught. What a great way to share the love of Daddy God, Jesus and Holy Spirit! This is the Way of the Kingdom: one shares with another and in like manner they share. Before we know it, the whole world would know the Way of the Kingdom!
So what happened? Why has our world gotten so far off track? Mankind became greedy for power and control. They kept the authority they were given to themselves. Just like in the Garden, they take for themselves because they were deceived into believing Daddy God was holding out.
Jesus came and told us ‘freely you were given so freely give away’ (Mathew 10). He had given them the abilities to bring healing, freedom, and so much more. Like in a relay race, you pass the baton to the next runner! We pass the authority of the Kingdom to one person who in turn passes it to another.
Let’s not forget that we have been given the authority. So give it away!
Todays Decrees:
I declare that all the authority of the universe was given to Jesus — and He has shared that authority with me!
I receive freely and I give freely — the authority I carry is not mine to hoard, it is mine to multiply!
I am part of the relay of the Kingdom — one sharing with one, until the whole world knows the Way!
I will not be deceived into thinking Daddy God is holding out — He has freely given and freely given again!
Jesus is with me every day, even to the completion of this age — I do not carry this authority alone!
Lets Pray:
Daddy God thank You for the authority You have given us through Jesus — all the authority of the universe, extended to us so freely and so generously. Forgive us for the times we have hoarded what was meant to be given away — for believing, even subtly, the lie that giving it away would leave us with less. Today we choose to be a relay — receiving freely from You and giving freely to everyone around us. Show us who needs what we carry. Give us boldness to give it away — healing, freedom, discipleship, the Way of the Kingdom. And thank You for Your promise that You are with us every day, even to the completion of this age. We are not alone in this. Let the relay continue through us today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
