Behavior — “Take up the strongest possible position against every form of distorted behavior in your own life. Do not allow yourself to be spiteful; outbursts of violent emotion and rage do not become you. You don’t have to shout in order to make your point. People must feel safe in your conversation; therefore, slander and hurtful words [blasphemy] are out. Be inspired by kindness and compassion; your forgiving one another when you might feel irritated and frustrated demonstrates the way God graciously treated us in Christ.” (Ephesians 4:30-32, The Mirror Bible)
Our world is full of road rage and all types of angry people. Why is this? I venture to believe a lot of it comes from fear and from people believing they are entitled to act any way they choose. Adults throw tantrums just like children do when they don’t get their way. Some people choose to allow their flesh to run out of control instead of being led by the spirit!
Jesus even dealt with His disciples having a weak flesh. “Keep alert and pray that you’ll be spared from this time of testing. Your spirit is eager enough, but your humanity is weak.” (Mathew 26:41, TPT) Romans 8:14 and Galatians 5:18 both speak of the importance of being ‘led by Spirit and not the flesh’!
The way to control our behavior is to be led by Holy Spirit! So ask Holy Spirit how to learn His ways. That will bring the fruit of love and not of self into your areas of influence!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God! Help us have Abraham's faith that doesn't take our circumstances into account when You've made a promise. When we face impossible situations - whether physical limitations, dead dreams, or barren hopes - help us not be distracted in the least. We don't want to believe that our contribution is needed to assist You in fulfilling Your promises. Give us faith's persuasion to continue communicating Your opinion even when we have every reason to doubt. Let confidence be our dress code, knowing beyond doubt that Your power to perform is equal to Your promise. You are not a liar like humans who fail to keep their word. Help us stop making excuses when Your promises don't happen in our timeline. Let's join Abraham and believe! In Jesus' name, Amen.

I take the strongest possible position against every form of distorted behavior in my life. I refuse to be spiteful, have violent emotional outbursts, or throw adult tantrums when I don't get my way. I create safe conversations by removing slander and hurtful words from my speech. I choose to be inspired by kindness and compassion, forgiving others even when I feel irritated or frustrated. I will be led by Holy Spirit, not controlled by my flesh, bringing the fruit of love into all my areas of influence.
I decree that I take the strongest possible position against all distorted behavior patterns in my life!
I decree that people feel emotionally safe in conversations with me because I speak with kindness and truth!
I decree that I am led by Holy Spirit, not controlled by flesh, in every situation I face!
I decree that my behavior demonstrates God's gracious treatment, showing forgiveness even when irritated!
I decree that I produce the fruit of love, not selfishness, in all my areas of influence!
