Children — “The people brought their babies and small children to Jesus so that He might lay His hands on them to bless them. When the disciples saw this, they scolded the parents and told them to stop troubling the Master. But Jesus called for the parents, the children, and His disciples to come and listen to Him. Then He told them, “Never hinder a child from coming to Me. Let them all come, for God’s Kingdom realm belongs to them as much as it does to anyone else. They demonstrate to you what faith is all about. Learn this well: unless you receive the revelation of the Kingdom realm the same way a little child receives it, you will never be able to enter in.” (Luke 18:15-17, TPT)

I’ve often wondered why we have separate meetings for the children. We need to learn from the children’s faith which is pure and hasn’t been polluted. Children don’t have the negative belief’s that adults have accrued through life. The structures of our society have brought many false teachings and habits into our lives that children don’t have.

This is why it’s important to listen to our children. And when we fail to listen to them, they end up doubting their faith. Jesus taught the people that they needed to have the same unhindered belief in His Kingdom that the children had!

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God, we thank You for the beautiful example that children provide of pure, unhindered faith. Help us to see through their eyes and to receive Your Kingdom realm with the same simple trust and wonder that they demonstrate. Strip away the negative beliefs and false teachings that we've accumulated through life's experiences, and restore to us the childlike faith that Jesus praised. Teach us to listen to the children around us and to learn from their pure hearts. Let our belief systems be cleansed of adult complications and returned to the simplicity of Kingdom truth. In Jesus' name, Amen.
