Common — “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.(1Corinthains 10:13, NKJV)

Common means that our temptations and trails are no different than anyone else’s. Yet we think we are the only one going through this, so we continue to look for a way of escape. I believe that a through would be better than a way out. Seems like if we escape it, we end up having to repeat it until we learn to overcome it.

I like the way that that the Remedy Bible translates this verse:

“For there is no temptation to discontinue God’s treatment that has come upon you except for the fear and selfishness that infects all mankind. God is reliable and trustworthy; He will not allow temptation beyond your ability to resist, but when you are tempted, He will always provide resources, options, opportunities, supports, and alternate ways out so that you can stand your ground and overcome the temptation, thereby growing stronger with each victory.” (1Corinthains 10:13, The Remedy Bible)

When the tests come, and they will, let’s look to Jesus for the way through rather than out. That way we can become stronger in our faith!

Today’s Decrees:

🔥 I decree that the isolation strategy of the adversary is broken — God's people are recognizing that their temptations are common and they are reaching out for the help, community, and resources Daddy God has already provided in Jesus' name!

🔥 I decree that a generation is choosing the way through over the way out — standing their ground, overcoming their temptations, and growing stronger with each victory rather than repeating the same mountain over and over!

🔥 I decree that the root infections of fear and selfishness that drive every temptation to discontinue God's treatment are being exposed and addressed — and believers are walking in the freedom of genuine, tested, proven faith!

🔥 I decree that the Renaissance People are overcomers — not escapers — who look to Jesus for the way through every trial, stand their ground with the resources Daddy God provides, and come out the other side stronger, more established, and full of testimony!

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God thank You for Your faithfulness — that You will not allow any temptation beyond our ability to resist and that You have already provided everything we need to stand our ground and overcome. Today we release the strategy of escape and we choose the way through. Show us the resources You have already placed in our path — the options, the supports, the opportunities to stand rather than run. Help us recognize the root infections of fear and selfishness beneath the temptations we face and address them honestly in Your presence. Give us the courage of Jesus in the wilderness — to meet every temptation with Your Word, from the confidence of genuine relationship with You, knowing who we are regardless of what the enemy is suggesting. And let us come out the other side of every trial stronger, more established, and full of a testimony that helps someone else find their way through. In Jesus' name, Amen.
