Escape — “We all experience times of testing, which is normal for every human being. But God will be faithful to you. He will screen and filter the severity, nature, and timing of every test or trial you face so that you can bear it. And each test is an opportunity to trust Him more, for along with every trial God has provided for you a way of escape that will bring you out of it victoriously.” (1 Corinthians 10:13, The Passion Translation)

I’ve heard it said that when troubles come our way we should look for a window because Daddy God always leaves us a way out!  Jesus said to the Pharisees, “Listen to this eternal truth: The person who sneaks over the wall to enter into the sheep pen, rather than coming through the gate, reveals himself as a thief coming to steal.” (John 10:1, TPT) So how about we look to Holy Spirit to provide our exodus out of whatever we are facing, instead of asking for the trials to just disappear.

Let’s not be like the thief who wants the easy way in and out. But be the ones who find the Shepard and follow Him through the gate!

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God! Thank You that every test and trial we face is screened and filtered by Your faithfulness. Help us understand that testing is normal for every human being, but You provide a way of escape that brings us out victoriously. When troubles come, we don't want to look for windows like thieves trying to find easy ways out. Instead, help us look to Holy Spirit for our exodus through these times, following You through the proper gate like faithful sheep. We want to find the Shepherd and follow Him through the gate, not sneak over walls like thieves. Make us trustworthy in trials, not escapists looking for shortcuts. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Today’s Declarations:

I choose to trust God's faithful screening and filtering of every trial I face. Instead of looking for unauthorized escape routes like a thief sneaking over walls, I will seek Holy Spirit's guidance through my trials. I believe that each test is an opportunity to trust God more and that He provides a way of escape that brings victory. I will follow the Shepherd through the proper gate rather than seeking shortcuts that steal what should be earned through faithful endurance.

I decree that God faithfully screens and filters every trial I face according to what I can bear!

I decree that each test is an opportunity to trust God more and grow stronger in faith!

I decree that I follow the Shepherd through the gate instead of sneaking over walls like a thief!

I decree that Holy Spirit guides my exodus through trials, bringing me out victoriously!

I decree that I reject shortcut mentalities and embrace God's proper process for breakthrough!
