Goal — “Now, this is the goal: to live in harmony with one another and demonstrate affectionate love, sympathy, and kindness toward other believers. Let humility describe who you are as you dearly love one another. (1Peter 2:8, TPT)
What was the goal Jesus had for humanity? Was it to rule over others? To be all powerful? No. It was to live as one unit of love! To truly care for others.
“Look at how much encouragement you’ve found in your relationship with the Anointed One! You are filled to overflowing with His comforting love. You have experienced a deepening friendship with Holy Spirit and have felt His tender affection and mercy.
So I’m asking you, my friends, that you be joined together in perfect unity—with one heart, one passion, and united in one love. Walk together with one harmonious purpose and you will fill my heart with unbounded joy.” (Philippians 2:1-2, TPT)
I have heard many say that all they need is Jesus. Of course we need Jesus, but we also need each other. That’s how He created us. Paul explains how much Jesus affected our lives. Yet has that helped us personally to affect others? In Roman’s 12 Paul explains that you are a physical body with many parts. All parts are needed. The same goes for all humanity. We all have a part in the Body of Christ. We are not all the same, and we are needed.
Let’s begin the journey of fulfilling the goal of Jesus by being the part we were created to be. Let’s bring unity to the Body of Christ!

I declare that I am committed to the goal of Jesus — harmony, affectionate love, sympathy, and kindness toward every member of the Body of Christ!
Humility describes who I am — I dearly love those around me and I value every part of the Body as essential and irreplaceable!
Everything I have received from Christ — encouragement, comfort, love, mercy — flows out of me and into the lives of those around me!
I am a needed part of the Body of Christ — my gift, my story, and my love are not duplicated anywhere else and I will show up fully!
I walk together with my brothers and sisters in one harmonious purpose — and together we fill the heart of Jesus with unbounded joy!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, forgive us for the times we have settled for a privatized faith that stopped at our own personal encounter with You and never flowed outward into genuine love for the Body. Remind us today that the goal was always unity — one heart, one passion, one love. Show us the parts of the Body we have been neglecting, the people we have dismissed as unnecessary, the gifts we have withheld out of hurt or pride. Heal what needs to be healed. Restore what needs to be restored. And bring us together — every part functioning, every person valued, every gift expressed — into the harmony that fills Your heart with unbounded joy. Let the goal of Jesus be the goal of the Renaissance People. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
