Hate — “If I had not performed miracles in their presence like no one else has done, they would not feel the guilt of their sins. But now, they have seen and hated both Me and My Father. And all of this has happened to fulfill what is written in their Scriptures: They hated me for no reason.” (John 5:24-25, The Passion Translation)
Hate has become so rampant in our world, but it’s not new! Hate has been going on from the beginning. A lot of times people hate just because their family or tribe hated. Many times people have forgotten even why they hate!
Jesus was hated — for what? Because He healed someone? Or was it because He spoke against traditions? Most never even understood why they hated Him. It became a mob mentality, just like today. People hate people whom they have never meet or even taken time to understand. Because someone is different is not a reason to hate!
“I can’t even count all those who hate me for no reason. Many influential men want me silenced, yet I’ve done nothing against them. Must I restore what I never took away?” (Psalms 69:4, TPT)
Hate has been ruling in our society for long enough. It’s time to restore love. Let’s change the statement from ‘they hated me for no reason’ to ‘they loved me for no reason!’
Let’s Pray:
Good morning, Daddy God! We come to You heavy-hearted about the hate that's running rampant in our world, but we're not without hope because You are love. Just like Jesus experienced hatred for no reason, help us to respond with love for no reason. Break the cycles of inherited hate in families and tribes. Heal the wounds that cause people to hate those they've never even met. Holy Spirit, give us the courage to be love-bringers in a hate-filled world. Help us restore what hate has stolen and be the ones who change the narrative from "they hated me for no reason" to "they loved me for no reason." In Jesus' name, Amen.
Today’s Declaration:
I refuse to carry inherited hatred or join mob mentality. I will not hate people I've never met or people who are simply different from me. Instead, I choose to love for no reason, just like Jesus loved me for no reason. I am breaking cycles of hate and starting cycles of love. Where hate has ruled, love will now reign through me.
