Identity — “Meanwhile we know that the love of God causes everything to mutually contribute to our advantage. His Master Plan is announced in our authentic identity. (Called according to his purpose, kaleo, meaning to surname, to identify by name.)  He has always known us face to face, and engineered us upon the mirror-horizon of His faith, to be jointly fashioned in the same mold and image of His Son. We see the authentic pattern of our lives preserved in the Incarnate One. He is the firstborn from the same womb that reveals our genesis.” (Romans 8:28-29, The Mirror Bible)

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28, NKJV)

This is a familiar verse that many of us know, but do we really understand it. Many times we use it to comfort ourselves or others when bad things happen. That’s why I like to read in it different translations, so I can get a fuller understanding. Once we begin to understand who we are and whose we are, we can understand our identity in Christ.

I’ve heard it proclaimed like this only for those in a special class or group. Not true! The Spirit fell on all people. (Acts 2:17, Joel 2:28) And my understanding of all is all!

Sadly, many have believed lies about who they are. They think less of themselves than they should. Discovering your true identity can be quite a journey. So let’s dig in and find out who and whose we are.

Lets Pray:

Daddy God, thank You for Your Master Plan that is announced in our authentic identity as those called according to Your purpose. Help us understand that You have always known us face to face and engineered us upon the mirror-horizon of Your faith to be fashioned in the same image as Your Son. Open our eyes to see ourselves preserved in the Incarnate One as the authentic pattern of our lives. Holy Spirit, dispel every lie about our identity and help us discover who and whose we truly are. In Jesus' name, Amen.

• I declare that I am jointly fashioned in the same mold and image of Christ! • I declare that I have been known face to face by God since before I was born!

• I declare that all things work together for my advantage in discovering who I truly am!

• I declare that I reject lies about my identity and embrace truth about my divine design!
