Identity — “Now, we all, with new understanding, see ourselves in Him as in a mirror. The days of window-shopping are over. In Him every face is unveiled. In gazing with wonder at the blueprint of God displayed in human form, we suddenly realize that we are looking into a mirror, where every feature of His image, articulated in Christ, is reflected within us. The Spirit of the Lord engineers this radical transformation; we are led from an inferior mind-set to the revealed endorsement of our authentic identity. From the fading glory of our own making, to the discovering of the most amazing reality that we are His glory!” (2 Cor. 3:18, The Mirror Bible)
You are the true image of Christ; that’s who you were created to be! We’ve been misled into thinking we are something less. So much so that we confess things like, “I’m a sinners saved by grace.” Or, “I’m a recovering ____”. You fill in the blank.
The truth is you are a saint saved by grace and healed from whatever kept you bound. You are not your past. That person died with Christ.
“There, away from any effort of your own, discover how the God of perfect peace, who fused you skillfully into oneness - just like a master craftsman would dovetail a carpentry joint - has personally perfected and sanctified the entire harmony of your being without your help. He has restored the detailed default settings. You were re-booted to fully participate in the life of your design, in your spirit, soul and body in blameless innocence in the immediate presence our Lord Jesus” (1 Thessalions 5:23, TMB).
Christ came and reset us to our original design. Allow His truth to set and keep you free!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, help us see ourselves through Your eyes today. We've been deceived into believing we are less than who You created us to be. Open our spiritual eyes to see the truth of our identity reflected in Christ. Transform our minds from inferior thinking to the amazing reality that we are Your glory. Help us stop identifying with our past and start living from our authentic identity as Your beloved children. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Today’s Declarations:
I am the true image of Christ - that's who I was created to be! I refuse to identify with my past or confess limiting labels over myself. I am a saint saved by grace, healed and whole. God has skillfully fused me into oneness with Himself like a master craftsman. I have been re-booted to my original design and restored to participate fully in divine life. I am His glory reflected on earth, living in blameless innocence in the presence of Jesus. His truth sets me free and keeps me free!
