Past — “I admit that I haven’t yet acquired the absolute fullness that I’m pursuing, but I run with passion into his abundance so that I may reach the purpose that Jesus Christ has called me to fulfill and wants me to discover. I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus. (Philippians 3:12-14, The Passion Translation)
Testimonies are a great way to share the love and grace of Daddy God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. Yet many times our testimonies give more glory to our past than to our present victories! Often we get stuck in trauma, hurts, or plain disobedience instead of sharing what’s happened since we gave our lives to Daddy God, Jesus and Holy Spirit.
It’s not wrong to share our past; we are all a work in progress. Yet too frequently, in christendom, we seem to put the ones with the most horrific stories on some kind of pedestal. Paul could’ve been one of these, yet he counted all his accomplishments and failures as dung! (Phil 3:8)
Let’s not forget where we have come from. But let’s focus on fixing our eyes on the One who set us free from that past and set us on the road to redemption!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God! Help us have Paul's compelling focus to forget all of the past as we fasten our hearts to the future instead. We don't want to depend on our own strength but run with passion into Your abundance to reach the purpose Jesus Christ has called us to fulfill. When we share testimonies, help us give more glory to present victories than past traumas. We don't want to get stuck in old hurts, disobedience, or horrific stories, but fix our eyes on You who set us free from the past and put us on the road to redemption. Like Paul, help us count our past accomplishments and failures as dung compared to knowing Christ. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Today’s Declarations:
I choose to run with passion into God's abundance rather than living in my past. I have one compelling focus: forgetting all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I will not depend on my own strength but pursue the divine invitation to reach my heavenly goal through Jesus' anointing. When I share my testimony, I will give more glory to present victories than past traumas. I count all my past accomplishments and failures as dung compared to knowing Christ and fulfilling His purpose for my life.
I decree that I run with passionate focus toward God's abundance and my divine calling!
I decree that I forget the past and fasten my heart to the future God has prepared!
I decree that my testimony glorifies God's redemptive power more than past darkness!
I decree that I count all past accomplishments and failures as worthless compared to knowing Christ!
I decree that I fix my eyes on Jesus who set me free and put me on the road to redemption!
