Impartation — “Jesus gathered his twelve disciples and imparted to them authority to cast out demons and to heal every sickness and every disease.” (Matthew 10:1, The Passion Translation)
In today’s culture and even in a lot of churches, impartation isn’t a common word or practice. So what is impartation? Simply, it’s something given or received. In using this description, impartation is a big part of our lives. Preaching and teaching can result in impartation, whether that be in school, church, work, or even at the movie theater!
Throughout the Bible, we see the practice of laying on of hands to impart gifts. Paul encourages Timothy to be careful who they lay hands on because not all impartation is good. “Don’t be hasty to ordain them with the laying on of hands, or you may end up sharing in their guilt should they fall. Keep yourself pure and holy with your standards high.” (1Timothy 5:22 TPT).
We need to be discerning who we are receiving from and giving to. Impartation is an important part of life! Ask the Lord with whom you are to give and receive.
Be a Blessing,
Sir Gregory
