Joy
Daily Vitamin
Joy — “Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding. For wisdom is more profitable than silver and her wages are better than gold. Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. She offers you long life in her right hand, and riches and honor in her left. She will guide you down delightful paths; all her ways are satisfying. Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her; happy are those who hold her tightly. (Proverbs 3:13-18, New Living Translation)
Joy is connected to understanding and wisdom! So if you’re a grumpy person, do you lack wisdom? Just a thought! Are you seeking wisdom and understanding?
One way I’ve found to have joy and to seek wisdom and understating is to study Proverbs. A good habit is to read the Proverb of the day. There are 31 Proverbs, so there is one for each day. In doing this, you will have read all of the Proverbs twelve times in a year. Gaining this kind of wisdom and understanding is a valuable tool to have in your spiritual arsenal!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, we thank You for the gift of wisdom and the joy that comes from understanding Your ways. Help us to seek wisdom with the same passion that others pursue silver and gold, knowing that she is more precious than any earthly treasure. Give us hearts that embrace wisdom tightly and minds that understand the connection between wisdom and true joy. Lead us down the delightful paths that wisdom offers, and help us to make studying Your Word, especially the Proverbs, a regular part of our lives. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Today’s Declarations:
I declare that I am joyful because I seek wisdom and understanding above earthly treasures.
I declare that wisdom is more profitable than silver and more precious than gold in my life.
I declare that I embrace wisdom tightly, making her a tree of life in my daily experience.
I declare that wisdom guides me down delightful paths where all her ways are satisfying.
I declare that I will consistently study God's Word, especially Proverbs, to build wisdom in my spiritual arsenal.
Be a Blessing,
Sir Gregory
