Listen — “My dearest brothers and sisters, take this to heart. Be quick to listen, but slow to speak. And be slow to become angry, for human anger is never a legitimate tool to promote God’s righteous purpose. So this is why we abandon everything morally impure and all forms of wicked conduct. Instead, with a sensitive spirit we absorb God’s Word, which has been implanted within our nature, for the Word of Life has power to continually deliver us.”  (James 1:19-21, TPT)

Do we listen to answer or to learn? Many times we plan our answer without having reallyheard. Sometimes we even interrupt before the other person even finishes. (I’m guilty) Not listening properly creates anger and misunderstandings. Do we ask questions? Like is this what you’re saying? Or this is what I’m hearing, is this correct?

We do this to others, but what about when Daddy God speaks to us. Do we readily have the answer? Or do we take a moment to understand what He’s saying? Do we get counsel from others to confirm what Daddy God is saying?

I like how the Message Bible says theses verses: “Post this at all the intersections, dear friends: Lead with your ears, follow up with your tongue, and let anger straggle along in the rear. God’s righteousness doesn’t grow from human anger. So throw all spoiled virtue and cancerous evil in the garbage. In simple humility, let our gardener, God, landscape you with the Word, making a salvation-garden of your life.” ( James 1:19-21,MSG)

Let’s learn to listen and allow Daddy God to make our lives a garden that others will want to eat from!

Today’s Decrees:

🔥 I decree that a generation of listeners is rising — people who lead with their ears and allow God's Word to shape their response!

🔥 I decree that every spirit of reaction, rage, and hasty speech that has damaged relationships and derailed Kingdom purposes is silenced in Jesus' name!

🔥 I decree that the homes, marriages, churches, and communities connected to this word are becoming gardens — places of life, nourishment, and healing!

🔥 I decree that the Renaissance People are becoming the most attentive listeners in every room — to people and to Daddy God — and that their lives are bearing fruit that remains!

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God, before we say a word today — we stop. We listen. Teach us the discipline of leading with our ears and following with our tongue. Slow down our mouths and quiet the noise inside us long enough to truly hear — what others are saying, and what You are saying. Landscape our lives with Your Word today, Gardener God, and make us a garden that others will want to eat from. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Be a Blessing,

Sir Gregory
