Salvation — “Considering this amazing outcome of what our faith sees and celebrates, I strongly urge you my darling friends to continue to have your ears tuned to that which inspires your conduct to give full expression to the detail of your own salvation in a most personal and practical way. See salvation in its earth-shattering awesome and ultimate conclusion. I know that my personal presence encourages you greatly but now I want you to realize an inspiration in my absence that supersedes anything you’ve known before. This would mean that even if you were never to see my face again or receive another Epistle from me, it will make no difference at all to your faith. (Philippians 2:12, The Mirror Bible)

Many versions of the Bible tell us to “work out our salvation.” The word “work” can also mean “produce.” So let’s let our salvation produce a harvest in our lives. Our salvation was paid for and given to us as a free gift. To keep working for something that already belongs to us would be confusing. I’m not saying that we can act any way we want! Obedience is the way to allow salvation to produce fruit in our lives and to enjoy the benefits of what Jesus paid for.

Working on our attitudes and beliefs in a follower of Christ, with love and all its characteristics, should be our central theme in life. Then our actions will follow suit!

Salvation isn’t something to take lightly. It’s a gift we should cherish!

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God, help us see salvation in its earth-shattering awesome and ultimate conclusion! Give us ears tuned to what inspires our conduct to give full expression to the detail of our salvation in personal and practical ways. Help us understand that salvation is a gift we cherish, not something we work for but something we produce fruit from. Transform our attitudes and beliefs as followers of Christ, filling us with love and all its characteristics. Let obedience flow naturally from understanding what Jesus paid for us. In Jesus' name, Amen.

I decree that I cherish salvation as the most precious gift ever given!
