Understanding — “For now we see but a faint reflection of riddles and mysteries as though reflected in a mirror, but one day we will see face-to-face. My understanding is incomplete now, but one day I will understand everything, just as everything about me has been fully understood. Until then, there are three things that remain: faith, hope, and love—yet love surpasses them all. So above all else, let love be the beautiful prize for which you run. ( 1 Corinthians 13:12-13,TPT)
Many say that King Solomon asked for wisdom, but in reality he asked for an understanding heart so he could lead the people correctly.
“Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?” (1 Kings 3:9, NKJV)
So with understanding came the wisdom as well as many more benefits. In reading more about Solomon, it’s evident that he had a great love for Daddy God and for His people! We have the ability to love, so instead of wisdom let’s seek understanding to discern between good an evil. Then, wisdom will be released.
Above all, let’s be known for our love.
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, we come before You humbly asking for what Solomon sought—an understanding heart. We acknowledge that our current understanding is incomplete, like seeing through a foggy mirror, but we trust that You are revealing truth to us progressively. Give us hearts that seek to understand rather than hearts that rush to judgment. Help us love well while we grow in understanding, knowing that love surpasses all knowledge. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Today’s Decree’s:
• I decree that I have an understanding heart that discerns truth from deception!
• I decree that I listen with love and seek to comprehend before being comprehended! • I decree that my incomplete understanding makes me gracious, not judgmental!
• I decree that I choose love as my response when situations don't make sense!
• I decree that understanding flows through me, bringing wisdom and blessing to others!
Be a Blessing,
Sir Gregory
