Yesterday

Yesterday — “I admit that I haven’t yet acquired the absolute fullness that I’m pursuing, but I run with passion into His abundance so that I may reach the purpose that Jesus Christ has called me to fulfill and wants me to discover. I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus. (Philippians 3:12-14, TPT)

One of our greatest struggles in life is forgetting yesterday. Too many times, our past keeps us from achieving our goals. This happens not just with future plans but even with our goals for today!  That’s because we allow our past to dictate our identity, instead of remembering we were created in the likeness of Christ.

“We have become His poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny He has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it!” (Ephesians 2:10, TPT)

Let’s keep our eyes on Jesus!

“We look away from the natural realm and we fasten our gaze onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection. His example is this: Because His heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be His, He endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!” (Hebrews 12:2, TPT)

Let’s do our best to not allow ‘yesterday’ to keep us from being who we were created to be!

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God, help us let go of yesterday's failures, disappointments, and limitations that try to define our identity and dictate our future. Give us Paul's compelling focus that forgets the past and fastens our hearts to the future You have planned for us. Holy Spirit, help us keep our eyes on Jesus who birthed faith within us and leads us forward into faith's perfection. Remind us that we are Your poetry, re-created people destined to fulfill the good works You planned before we were born. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Today’s Decrees:

• I decree that I forget the past and fasten my heart to the future God has prepared!

• I decree that I am His poetry, re-created with a predetermined destiny that yesterday cannot change!

• I decree that I run with passion into God's abundance rather than depending on my own strength!

• I decree that I look away from natural limitations and fix my gaze on Jesus!

• I decree that yesterday's failures will not keep me from fulfilling today's purposes!

Be a Blessing,

Sir Gregory
